CSIR stands for Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. It is one of the best R&D institutions throughout India. It was setup in 1942. CSIR conducts a national eligibility test each year for admission to Junior Research Fellowship and lectureship.
Eligibility
1. M.Sc or any other equivalent with 55% marks
2. Appearing for their final year examination can also apply but they will have to submit the certificates at the time of counseling.
3. For JRF: must be 19 to 28 years of age
4. For LS: Must be 19 years of age.

Examination pattern:
1. The exam will be divided in 2 parts of 2 and ½ hour.
2. Paper-1 will be of 200 marks and the timings will be from 10.00 AM-12.30 PM
3. Paper-2 will also be of 300 marks and the timings will be from 2.00 PM-4.30 PM
